Facts about our hunting operation
- We are experienced hunters and know our areas very well, hunting our areas for over 20 years.
- We are a New Zealand owned and operated outfitter, specializing in the "Kiwi experience".
- When we design a package for the hunt you want we will quote you the total price, there are no hidden extras. Our price quoted includes pick up drop off local airport tags/license, accommodation, food and bev, rifle hire, guiding, cape removal and of course trophy fee(s).
- We don't stop the hunting if your desired trophy(s) are taken in the first few days (sometimes this happens) FREE varminting for Hares and Rabbits, Turkey, Duck and Goat shooting can be arranged to fill out your hunting vacation - these extras are usually charged for by most other outfitters.
- We run a stress free hunting business you simply arrive here and we take total care from pick up at airport to drop off at airport.
- Our hunting season for big game is from March to August, Waterfowl--first weekend in May to first weekend in July Fishing for trout is from November to July. Turkey—all year (mating August/September).

- The Red Stag rut starts around the middle of March and ends around the middle of April, this is an exciting time to hunt and often stags are taken a little easier, they only have one thing on their minds!
- All our game are managed in a strict manner to only provide a man against beast experience, we do not condone the hunting of domesticated animals, we do not release animals just prior to their hunting, all animals will bolt at sight sound or smell of their human pursuer.
- We will organize the shipping of your trophies through our very experienced Taxidermist/Shipping agent, (this takes around three months). This can be included in our quoted price but can be subject to change.
- We only host/hunt one group at a time so you have our guide’s total dedication to you and your trophy...
- We recommend you bring good hunting boots and suitable hunting apparel, a warm waterproof jacket and pants are essential. Good binoculars and a camera are a “Must bring” to New Zealand often great opportunities for wildlife photography present themselves. A list of gear to bring can be provided by us at request.

- Here you can download the appropriate form--fill it out and fax it to the Auckland police (fax number—011-649-256-0486) they will put your details on their database and when you reach our shores registration will only take a matter of minutes.
- You are welcome to use one of our rifles, they are entirely suitable for the game persued and it will cut down on your excess baggage---leaving more room for souvenirs!
- The minimum caliber to hunt game with AAHUNTING is ..264
- A good range is on location to check accuracy before your hunt if required.
- Hand guns are not permitted in New Zealand.
- There are no predators in New Zealand, no snakes and no nasty bugs or spiders—there are no vaccinations required to visit New Zealand.
- A low level of fitness is required to hunt Deer with AAHUNTING a good level of fitness to hunt Tahr and Chamois is required unless you helihunt, which can be arranged on request..
- Most trophy hunts begin with a hunt for feral Goats these are numerous in our area and shots from 50 to 500 yards can be taken, this is great practice for marksmanship and lots of fun. They are widely regarded as pests by New Zealand farmers.
- All guides will use rangefinders and advise you on distance and bullet placement, most shots are between 100 and 300 yards.

- Most of our hunting is done from blinds/hides a good stable rest is always available—even the novice hunter will be catered for.
- We can video your hunt or bring in a professional cameraman to capture your hunt of a lifetime, this, (if requested) can be added to your package.
- We can design any package to hunt any, some or all species in New Zealand, Wilderness Trout fishing can be added to make your trip the ultimate in adventure.
- When flying from the West coast of the U.S. you will fly overnight to Auckland this takes around 12 hours, a connecting flight from Auckland to Gisborne is then required this takes only 55 minutes, your guide will be waiting for your arrival.
- Varminting for Hares, Rabbits, Possums and feral cats is complimentary to your trophy hunt; often we pick up these critters on the way home from an evening hunt .
